Martîm (Funchal, Portugal) is based in Lisbon but lived abroad for some years in the UK and Brazil. In Brazil he co-founded the artistic platform MADAME TEATRO, where he was responsible for the set design and art direction.

His pictorial research is influenced by his search for identity in relation with a sensorial landscape, through painting and ceramics, as well as creating scenic spaces. He regularly exhibits in group and solo exhibitions, which stand out: “MY WITNESS IS THE EMPTY SKY” (Galeria Plato, 2022), “Olhares” (Festival Fractal, 2022), “Paraísos Urbanos” (Fábrica Braço de Prata e Casa da Esquina, 2022), “Floating Paths” (Galeria Campo Pequeno, 2022), “Admirável Mundo Novo” (Pescada Nº 5, 2021), 6 ª Bienal Internacional de Arte de Espinho (2021), “I WILL TAKE THE RISK” (AZAN contemporary art, 2020), XX Bienal Internacional de Arte de Cerveira (2018).

He combines a Master’s degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), and also a post-graduate level course in Creating Theatre and Performance at the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA).
